More Color

For 2011 I feel like the world needs a bit more color. If you agree the next time you are making a purchase choose the 1 with more color. I'm tired of black, silver and grey.

Many 3 Wheeled Bikes

After dropping Matt and Lynn off at the airport I took a short detour into Silao. There are always many 3 wheeled bikes in the small city of Silao.

Tacos al Vapor 4 for 15 pesos or steamed tacos 4 for $1.10 US.

More Rally Action

Here's a little more rally action.
The guy I'm talking to in the 1st clip is the same guy you can see in the 2nd. He is a professional camera man who works for DC Shoes mainly shooting snowboarding videos. He's from Sweden and was asked by Ken Block, the only North American driver in the field, to get come over and get some shoots of Ken and the Monster Energy Drink team in action. It's fun being next to a pro with my little point and shoot.

Technology Verses Nature

I love seeing this sort of thing. Technology verses Nature.
I'll let you come up with your own caption.

I Rode My Monkey

Here's a little taste of the WRC. The World Rally Championships.

Thursday night the WRC started this years Corona Rally with a night stage through the tunnels of my town of Guanajuato. I rode my Monkey down to see what I could. It was cool but I must admit that I prefer the dirt road stages with the 4 wheel drifts more than a paved road stage. Still fun to see the crowds and the best drivers in the world driving on the streets of you town.

Saturday afternoon, I stumbled out into the mountains between Guanajuato and Leon to see if I could find an off road stage of this years rally. After a few wrong turns I found myself on the right path.

Just like with the Flutterbys, my fotos, videos and words do not do justice to the event, but I hope they give you some sort of idea of some of what I witnessed.

Beautifully Stacked

Please click on the fotos if they are out of focus. Thank you. The Management.

Today I rode my bike out to the Alaskan Canadians' house for a pool party and for some reason I decided to stop and take a few fotos of the guys who make bricks.

I have ridden by this place many times as I have traveled out to our construction site in Carbonera and I have always been fascinated as I have ridden past the beautifully stacked bricks drying in the sun and the flame powered kilns. If a few of the kilns are cooking when you ride by, your first hint is the smell, next is the sound, the kilns sound like a jet airplane getting ready to take off and the last thing you notice as you get closer is the tremendous heat.

I have always thought I should take a few fotos and today I did.
My Karate Monkey and some bricks.
The same foto as above just closer
so you can see all of the bricks.
The guy in the pit is the mixer. With his bare feet he mixes the
ingredients for the bricks.
Right before I got here, the guy "manning" the kiln was
pouring more fuel on the fire with the cup sitting on the ground.
A few of the guys caught me and started to wave.
Nice stacks of bricks!
